Resources for Potentially Major Winter Storm

deanNews

Multiple reports indicate that our area could be impacted by a major winter storm beginning Monday evening through Tuesday. I wanted to share several links that could be useful in the event we do experience a significant winter storm.

Travel:

Crews have already begun pre-treating roadways to help prevent initial precipitation from sticking. Tomorrow, nearly 4,500 plows will be throughout the region and will begin plowing snow once 2 inches has accumulated. VDOT encourages motorists to be off of the roads prior to Monday’s evening rush hour.

You can check road conditions by visiting www.511virginia.org.

Additionally, you can track snow plows by visiting novasnowplowing.virginia.gov/.
