Fairfax, VA – The Virginia Chamber of Commerce released its annual Legislative Report Card and has named Tim Hugo the House Legislator of the Year.
“In Virginia, we work to ensure that Virginia is a pro-business state for both small and large businesses. What we have accomplished and hope to continue to build on has been a group effort which makes being recognized as the House Legislator of the Year even more humbling,” said Delegate Hugo. “Virginia has become a national model for how to attract and retain businesses of all industries through lower taxes, reducing burdensome regulations, and less intrusion into the private sector.”
“For building bipartisan support for critical legislation to improve Virginia’s business climate, the Virginia Chamber of Commerce is pleased to award Delegate Tim Hugo with the highest honor from the business community as House Legislator of the Year,” said Barry DuVal, president and CEO of the Virginia Chamber of Commerce. “Among his accomplishments in the 2017 General Assembly is legislation signed by the Governor that protects defense sector manufacturers in Virginia from new potential tax burdens. Delegate Hugo also played a key role in the passage of many pro-business bills that did not bear his name as a patron, and we applaud his successful efforts to work in a bipartisan manner to advance good policies.”
The Virginia Chamber’s Legislator of the Year Award is the business community’s premier legislative award honoring the lawmaker who demonstrates outstanding leadership on pro-business issues.
