Hugo For Lieutenant Governor Weekly Newsletter
Our campaign to take back the Lieutenant Governor’s office for Republicans is picking up momentum everyday, and I wanted to take a moment to give you an update on our campaign’s activities this past week.
Speaking To Grassroots Republicans
I’m continuing to make my rounds to every corner of the Commonwealth! Last week, I had the opportunity to address Republicans in Lunenburg, McLean, Alexandria, Loudoun and Virginia Beach. I also enjoyed the chance to speak with College Republicans at my alma mater William and Mary.
Speaking to Republicans in Lunenburg County
This week, I’ll be visiting with Republicans in Stafford, Mecklenburg, and Chesapeake. I’ll also be joining our friends in Loudoun at a rally to open our schools.
We are scheduling more visits with local GOP units everyday. Contact our campaign manager Dustin Rhodes at [email protected] to make sure we have the next meeting time for your local committee.
Consolidating Conservative Support
Over the course of the last month, we have been rolling out endorsements from prominent conservative leaders throughout our Commonwealth. Last week, I was pleased to add Congressman Morgan Griffith (VA-9) to that growing list. You can watch Congressman Griffith’s endorsement video below. You can also read his full endorsement statement by clicking here.
Here is what some other recent supporters of our campaign are saying:
Former NRA Political Director Chuck Cunningham: I am supporting Tim Hugo’s campaign for Lieutenant Governor because I know gun owners can count on Tim to protect their Second Amendment rights. As a member of the House of Delegates, Tim always stood firm against attacks on our right to keep and bear arms and I know he will do the same as Lieutenant Governor.
Former Delegate Randy Minchew: “If we are going to end this deleterious one-party rule over our state government and get our Commonwealth working again for our families and businesses with common-sense conservative solutions, we need to nominate statewide Republican candidates who can win in November. I am supporting Tim Hugo for Lieutenant Governor for that reason. I have seen firsthand Tim’s ability to get things done in Richmond with a work ethic and commitment to integrity second to none.”
Issue Spotlight – Taxes
As a member of the House of Delegates, I voted against efforts to raise taxes on Virginia families. Simply put, my position has always been that the government spends too much; not that you are taxed too little!
As Lieutenant Governor, I’ll take that same approach and fight to once again cut taxes for Virginia families.

Over the last several months, I’ve built a strong team with previous convention experience, but we are counting on grassroots supporters like you to help us win.
