FORMER DELEGATE AND SECOND AMENDMENT CHAMPION SCOTT LINGAMFELTER ENDORSES TIM HUGO FOR LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR

Centreville, VA – Former Delegate and Chairman of the House Committee on Militia, Police and Public Safety Scott Lingamfelter endorsed Tim Hugo for Lieutenant Governor today citing Hugo’s record of defending Virginians’ Second Amendment rights.

During his tenure in the House of Delegates, Lingamfelter was known for his fierce advocacy of gun rights as Co-Chairman of the Legislative Sportsmen’s Caucus. He was also awarded the National Rifle Association’s Carter-Knight Award for his successful efforts to repeal Virginia’s gun rationing law.

“As a Delegate, I fought hard everyday against attacks on Virginians’ Second Amendment rights, and I can tell you Tim Hugo was always an invaluable ally in those fights,” said Lingamfelter. “I strongly encourage all gun owners and those concerned about Democrats’ attacks on our right to keep and bear arms to join me in supporting Tim Hugo for Lieutenant Governor. We can count on Tim to stand with us and it is one of the many reasons I am proud to throw my support behind his candidacy.”

“Over the years, I have been proud to call Scott a colleague and a friend and I am equally proud to have his endorsement in our campaign for Lieutenant Governor,” Hugo said. “Since the Democrats took complete control of Virginia’s government last year, we have witnessed unprecedented attacks on our Second Amendment rights. It is time we push back against these unconstitutional gun grabs and recommit ourselves to the constitutional principle of ‘shall not be infringed.’ As Lieutenant Governor, I’ll work with Second Amendment champions like Delegate Lingemfelter to do just that.”

Tim Hugo has also been endorsed by other conservative leaders including:

Delegate Rob Bell (Albemarle)
House of Delegates Caucus Chair Kathy Byron (Bedford)
Delegate Bobby Orrock (Caroline)
Delegate Matt Fariss (Campbell)
Delegate Buddy Fowler (Hanover)
Delegate Margaret Ransone (Westmoreland)
Delegate Nick Rush (Montgomery)
Delegate Lee Ware (Powhatan)
Delegate Mark Cole (Spotsylvania)
Senator Bill DeSteph (Virginia Beach)
Senator Ryan McDougle (Hanover)
Former Senator Dick Black
Former Speaker of the House William Howell

Tim is an Army veteran and former Virginia Delegate where he rose to be the third ranking member of the House of Delegates. As a Delegate of 17 years, Tim amassed a reliably conservative voting record. Tim is running for Lieutenant Governor to position Virginia for a 21st Century economy, bring about a strong economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, defend Virginians’ Constitutional rights, hold the line on additional tax increases, and stand up for the men and women in law enforcement.
