TIM HUGO STATEMENT ON RPV’S DECISION TO HOLD NOMINATING CONVENTION

Centreville, VA – Following the Republican Party of Virginia’s (RPV) decision to hold a nominating convention for the selection of statewide Republican candidates, Lieutenant Governor candidate Tim Hugo issued the following statement:

“I look forward to running in the RPV convention for the office of Lieutenant Governor. Our campaign is working hard to build a statewide operation that will not only win us the nomination, but also defeat the Democrats next November. In the months ahead, we will be taking our conservative message to Republican voters in every corner of our Commonwealth.”

Tim is running for Lieutenant Governor to position Virginia for a 21st Century economy, bring about a strong economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, defend Virginians’ Constitutional rights, hold the line on additional tax increases, and stand up for the men and women in law enforcement.

Tim is an Army veteran and former Virginia Delegate where he rose to be the third ranking member of the House of Delegates. As a conservative representing Northern Virginia, Tim helped shape some of the most crucial legislation that made Virginia one of the safest and best places to live. In 2019, he sponsored and passed legislation that returned $500 millon to Virginia taxpayers.
